I’m talking about a lie today that is prevalent in our society. It’s the like that you and I can “have it all.” This lie is detrimental to us because we, as business owners know we can do what we want to do, BUT we will never have it all. And, we can’t do it all. At some point, we’re going to have to be content with what we have. I love the verse in 1 Timothy 6:6-11 that talks about contentment because honestly, being content with where I am can be really hard for me.
1 Timothy 6:6-11 New International Version (NIV) – “But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. Those who want to get richfall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.”
